Calvert Historic Jail Exhibit & Episcopal Church (1870) Group Tour

Tour starts with entry to The Hammond House. The current owner (a descendent of Fannie Lee Hammond) shares fascinating stories of hidden secrets and history. 


A centerpiece to Calvert’s Historic District, and listed on The Library of Congress Historic American Buildings Survey, enjoy viewing exhibits displaying Calvert’s rich history before taking the bus and heading over to another unique landmark, the Church of the Epiphany (Episcopal Church), the oldest church edifice erected in Calvert. 


Next, ride the bus to Calvert’s Historic Downtown, where the guided portion of our tour ends. 


Continue your trip, enjoying 8-blocks of architectural landmark, various shops, and eateries on Main Street before heading back to Harris County

Our guide accompanies the Harris County bus through Calvert’s 70-acre historic district, noting architectural influences and sharing stories; of founding families, their international and 

community connections, cultural influences, and more. After the guided tour concludes, we encourage the group to spend time in our 8-block Calvert Historic Downtown shopping district.
