The 1895 Pavilion at Virginia Field Park wasscheduled for renovation. The City Council of Calvert awarded a contract to CSB Construction of College Station to begin work in August 2024. Structural restoration was completed in September 2024. Painting will commence shortly.

The church building was recently sold to a private investor who has begun the process of restoration to its original condition. The building will become an event venue for rental for weddings and other private events. It will also be available for Calvert churches, community organizations, city events at no cost to minimal (custodial, etc.) cost. See the Waco TV Channel 25 video.
